Humans are not the only victims of advances in machine learning, robotics, and AI. Researchers are now discarding the likes of Paul the Octopus to predict the outcome of the FIFA World Cup 2018. In one particular study, researchers predict the following: "At the beginning of the tournament, Spain has the best chances of winning, according to Groll and co. But if Germany makes the quarter-finals, it then becomes the front-runner."
