A thesis about Pep Guardiola

Xavi e Iniesta formed the best soccer duo of the last 20 years.

Probably the two most underrated players of the last 20 years.

The linchpins of the Spanish armada during Euro 2008, FIFA 2010, and Euro 2012.

Without them, Spain hasn't won.

The mainstay of FC Barcelona when they won the champions leagues.

Without them, what has Barcelona won?

All we hear is Messi, Messi, Messi ... but what did Messi achieve without these two?

Xavi and Iniesta didn't make Messi. Barcelona did.

But Xavi and Iniesta made Pep Guardiola.

They placed him in the big league.

Bayern, Manchester City.

Clubs with "billion dollar" teams. Top notch.

And yet, he wins nothing extraordinary.

No international titles in a decade.

Just domestic. The minimum that you'd expect.

Has Pep Guardiola ever shown something extraordinary?

Winning when you have Xavi and Iniesta, and Messi?

Scraping by with teams like Bayern and City?

Without Pep Guardiola, the same fabulous Bayern team won the champions league.

Has Pep Guardiola ever won something major leading an underdog team?

 Or achieved frequent international success?

No!

Xavi and Iniesta made Pep Guardiola.

And he has been riding that wave ever since ...

Pep Guardiola seems posed to be the successor of Arsene Wenger.
